What is the BLADE READY™ Program?
BLADE READY™ is a co-marketing and industry credibility program which unites leading industry vendors, providing IT solutions, products, or services for blade network critical physical infrastructure environments.
Q. What is driving the BLADE READY™ Program?
A. Providing end-users with the opportunity to select industry vendors who are offering best of breed solutions for blade/high density data centre environments.
 
Q. What does the BLADE READY™ logo mean?
A. By selecting Industry Vendors or Products that carry the BR logo, you can rest assured that their product or service is designed for the special demands of a Blade environment.
 
Q. How do I know if my existing Data Center/Computer Room is equipped to support Blades?
A. The Blade Server Readiness Assessment* service provides a data center analysis of the Network Critical Physical Infrastructure (NCPI) components, (Power, Cooling, Facilities, and Rack configurations) for deployment of Blade Servers.

APC’s Global Services Professionals will deliver an accurate assessment of the data center’s NCPI potential to deploy high density rack mounted blade servers within the current infrastructure, and to make recommendations for changes to maximize density. This will include:

  • Assessment and analysis of the data center’s as-built capacity for deployment of Blade Servers at the room and row level.
  • Assessment of the data center’s as-built power and cooling utilization.
  • Detailed recommendations for blade deployment that will compare total blades deployable as a function of cost, scalability and infrastructure changes.
  • Identify constraints (customer policies, type of blade servers, power distribution, air distribution, floor space, ability to spread loads) that will hinder high density deployment.
  • Thermal imaging to identify hot spots.
